Erk To The Diary Room 23 – Wandering Around Asian TV

by Erk

Welcome to Erk To The Diary Room episode 23. This episode was recorded in two halves from different parts of Asia. The episode opens in a hotel room in Tokyo, Japan. Like the previous episode, Erk samples hotel room TV. However on this episode, there is an Asian theme. The second half of the episode was recorded in Singapore. While both countries are in Asia, they are very different.   Japan is highly Japanese (thank you, Captain Obvious!) with all of the TV that Erk sampled being in the Japanese language. While there was English around Tokyo in general society, Japanese is by far the dominant language. However in Singapore, there is more of a mix in languages with variations of Chinese, Indian, Malaysian, Singaporean & western cultures & languages.   The episode was recorded on Erk's iPad & the multitasking was not quite up to the job which meant that there may be some gaps in the recording.

Erk FM: International 433 – Singapore Starfish

by Erk

Welcome to Erk FM: International episode 433. Continuing the Singapore theme, Erk features Starfish Stories & Tina Valentine. Who knows, by the time this episode is scheduled to be released, maybe Erk has found some more Singaporian music to feature in coming weeks.

  Music supplied by Jamendo.

It is also a part review of the trip so far.

Erk FM: International 431 – Full Of Grace

by Erk

Welcome to episode 431 of Erk FM: International. On this episode, Erk presents songs from CC Grace. Her bio is the funniest that Erk has read in some time & it really sums her up well!

"C.C. Grace is a classic country and folk singer, currently living in Pasadena, CA. Little is known of her early life. She appears to have emerged on the California music scene full-grown. Some say she is the alter-ego of Callie Cardamon, a jazz singer also living in Pasadena, California. But Callie Cardamon is a brunette and barely five feet tall, whereas C.C. Grace is a blonde and easily 5’4” (in her kickass cowboy boots), so that couldn’t be true. Plus, C.C. Grace denies that she is anyone’s alter-ego and finds it insulting to be considered a mere creation of someone else’s imagination. It’s true that C.C. doesn’t remember much of her life prior to about seven years ago when she started writing and recording most of the songs which appear on her “Fortunate Woman” CD. But that could be due to many reasons, most likely that she fell and hit her head and didn’t regain consciousness until now. Regardless of who she...

Erk Pod 451 – Erk’s Pacamerican Circle Day 1 – Going On A Jet Plane!

by Erk

Welcome to Erk Pod episode 451. It is the first of many episodes recorded in 2014 as Erk starts his Pacamerican Circle starting in Australia, heading to the US & Mexico & then coming back across the Pacific Ocean to Japan & Singapore.

The first day of a trip to America is always a long one due to crossing the International Date Line. With an afternoon departure from Australia on January 01 & a morning arrival into LA on January 01, it was always going to be a long day. However working the night before & not sleeping would make it even longer - or would it mean that Erk would sleep on the plane?
