Blast From The Past 28 – Topp Twins Celebration of 100 Years

Welcome to a very special episode of Blast From The Past. On this episode, Judy profiles the Topp Twins, a female performing duo from New Zealand. They are celebrating 100 years between them and at the time of recording are touring in the US followed by a tour of Australia.

During this episode, Judy takes a look at the life and times of the Topp Twins and talks about what their music and performance means to her personally. Hear about Judy’s experiences at shows and how they related to events in her life.

This episode also features several of Judy’s favourite Topp Twins songs. The songs come from 3 albums which are “Two Timing” (1994), “Grass Highway” (2001) and “Flowergirls and Cowgirls” (2005). All music is played with permission. Thank you to the Topp Twins’ agent Arani Cuthbert for her assistance and permission to play the music to complete the episode.

    I can’t say I had heard of Topp Twins before. But the songs sound pretty good.

    This is the first time I have ever heard of the Top Twins. Very pretty music! There is something special about siblings that sing in harmony. It blends like nothing else can. You can hear in their music that these two ladies are identical twins. Impressive!
