Erk To The Diary Room 05 – You Have The Right To Remain Silent!

Welcome to episode 5 of Erk To The Diary Room, a new Channel Erk podcast where Erk discusses TV, movies, entertainment & more. On this episode, he discovers a new way to record this podcast, talks about police TV shows and movies as well as nearly getting involved in an accident while recording in the mobile Diary Room (his car)

While listening to the Airline Pilot Guy podcast (episode 39 in particular), host Captain Jeff revealed that he is using an application on his iPhone called bossjock which he used to record a podcast episode in his car. This interested Erk who seeked out Captain Jeff (firstly on Facebook & then on Twitter) who assisted Erk with information about the application.

On this episode, Erk talks about various police shows that he primarily watches on the Crime & Investigation channel (CI) on Foxtel. These shows include:

  • COPS (US)
  • Police Women of *insert location here* – Police Women Of Broward County, Police Women of Dallas, Police Women Of Maricopa County, Police Women On Cincinnati (US)
  • The Force (AUS)
  • Highway Patrol (AUS)
  • Police 10-7 (NZ)
  • Motorway Patrol (NZ)
  • Road Wars (UK)
  • Police Interceptors (UK)

Then Erk talks about his time on a ride along with a US Police Officer in 2009 which felt like he was on a personal episode of COPS.

Later, Erk talks about a couple of his favourite cop movies including Police Academy & Super Troopers.

Theme: TV Star by Predator (used under a Creative Commons licence).

Erk enjoys creating new media, watching ice hockey and strange Chinese dating shows. Podcaster (2007 - 2014) and a new video gamer.

One of the best things they ever did on “COPS” was to censor out a dog’s face with that mosaic effect they use for people who didn’t sign broadcast releases. I’m pretty sure it was a small dog, being held by someone on camera. The person wasn’t censored out, but the dog was. I’m guessing this was the handiwork of an editor who’d spent too many hours working on the show, and was starting to go insane. Regardless, it was pretty funny.
